HOLON brings
autonomous shuttle

to Miniatur Wunderland

Starting now, an autonomous shuttle is confidently making its rounds in the imaginary district of Knuffingen at Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg, demonstrating what autonomous mobility on the road could look like.

With its distinctive Hamburg Hochbahn AG (HOCHBAHN) design, the small HOLON urban model already blends seamlessly into the urban landscape as a natural part of everyday life, demonstrating how new mobility concepts can be integrated into existing infrastructure.

Just a few kilometers away, its full-scale counterpart is gathering real-world data during test operations on Hamburg’s streets. There, HOLON is already testing its autonomous vehicles in public traffic and is thus gradually bringing to the streets what already seems like second nature in miniature format. What the full-size vehicles have over the miniature ones: They have already covered several thousand kilometers autonomously this year alone.

“With our presence at Miniatur Wunderland, we’re making our vision of modern mobility visible and tangible for millions of people today,” says Felix Sellmann, Director of Product Management at HOLON. “This future is no longer a distant idea, but is taking on an increasingly concrete form in Hamburg.”

The fact that the mini-shuttle features the HOCHBAHN design stems from a partnership between the two companies that is driving autonomous mobility forward in Hamburg. For the largest transportation company in the Hanseatic city, innovative, forward-looking concepts play a key role in shaping the transportation transition. HOCHBAHN is therefore delighted to see the small vehicle in the model world—while its larger counterparts continue to gather valuable insights into autonomous driving technology on the road.
