autonomous
mobility in the US
HOLON and CharterUP have entered into a strategic partnership to transfer autonomous mobility from pilot projects to regular traffic. Together with Benteler Mobility and ioki, HOLON is contributing its 360° mobility solution around an autonomous shuttle, while CharterUP is contributing its established mobility platform, operational implementation experience and a nationwide, AI-supported transport network.
"The partnership with CharterUP is an important step towards bringing autonomous mobility into everyday traffic," explains Dr. Sven Herzig, Chief Sales Officer at HOLON. "By combining our integrated 360° mobility solution with the operational expertise and reach of CharterUP, we enable operators to adopt autonomous mass transit safely, sustainably and at scale – from early pilots to full operation."
In practical implementation, CharterUP will roll out the solution in clearly defined application scenarios – including on campuses, at airports, in municipalities and at traffic authorities. This includes the planning of suitable service models, the operation of mixed fleets of manual and autonomous vehicles, the ongoing optimization of operating models and the integration of all vehicle, driver and service-related processes in a common solution.
“This partnership accelerates our mission to redefine group mobility by bringing AI-first intelligence and autonomous capability into real-world transportation operations,” said Armir Harris, Founder and CEO of CharterUP. “By offering HOLON’s mobility solutions to our customers, we can help organizations evolve their transportation networks responsibly, starting with human-driven operations and transitioning to fully autonomous shuttles when they are ready. This is a major step toward safer, more efficient, and more modern transportation.”
This creates a low-risk way to gradually integrate autonomous mobility into existing transport systems – in line with regulatory requirements, safety standards and increasing technological maturity. "Benteler Mobility provides the operational and infrastructural foundation required for the reliable operation of autonomous services," adds Tobias Liebelt, CEO of BENTELER Mobility. "Together, we are creating a closely interlinked ecosystem that will bring autonomous mobility into real traffic for the first time."
