The HOLON urban

The HOLON urban is a fully electric and autonomous vehicle for use on public roads. It is one of the world's first movers to meet automotive standards – leading the way in safety, ride comfort and production quality. The vehicle operates at a top speed of 60 kilometers / 37 miles per hour and can accommodate up to 15 passengers.  The HOLON urban is barrier-free and offers an automated ramp, a secured wheelchair space and auditory and visual support for passengers. In addition to conventional scheduled services, the mover is to be used as an on-demand means of transport in order to meet the mobility needs of users.

Vision of HOLON

HOLON creates a world where mobility is borderless, accessible to all, and sustainable, transforming public transport for a livable future. As a vehicle manufacturer, HOLON integrates all components and systems into a comprehensive mobility solution from a single source, thus bundling expertise into a complete package. HOLON addresses the need for better public transport in urban peripheries and rural areas and reduces car traffic in densely populated city centers. The aim is to expand the range of services in the mobility sector and solve the problem of the shortage of drivers. HOLON is one of the first manufacturers of autonomous shuttles with the standards of the automotive industry and scaling potential.  In contrast to many competitors who master individual components, HOLON offers the complete system and enables the scalable implementation of autonomous vehicles of this size. The approach goes beyond pilot projects and small series. Through industrial production, production-ready technology and seamless integration into existing transport systems, HOLON makes autonomous mobility economical and scalable.

Operations HOLON urban

Our vehicle can be implemented in numerous areas: in public transport in city centers and to connect rural areas or in the area of private areas, such as universities, airports, trade fairs, etc.In the area of public transport, the vehicle is intended to make local passenger transport more flexible. It can be used both as an extension for liner services and as an on-demand service. We see great potential in the development of peripheral areas and public transport in rural areas. In other words, where the train and large buses are often not financially viable. We respond flexibly to customer needs and offer a wide range of solutions that can be adapted to the individual requirements of municipalities, transport companies and private providers of all sizes and requirements.

Milestones

The first prototypes have been built and are currently being tested.

In mid-2025, the first vehicles will be in use on the roads in pilot projects. The first pilot project is the HOCHBAHN in Hamburg.  To build an autonomous on-demand ridepooling service, HOLON has partnered with Hamburger Hochbahn to provide passengers with access to public transport and expand mobility services for people with disabilities.

New Interior

The vehicle with the new interior, which was specially developed for public transport, can be seen at the UITP (6/16-6/18/2025).
